 about me

Jane Hanna Stoudt was born to two artists in the Texas Hill Country. She is married to her husband Jerome and together they have nine children and eight grandchildren. Jane grew up in the country and enjoyed spending her time outdoors with her horses and many other farm animals, some of which were quite unconventional: a brown bear, a pet owl and a lion. It was in her love of nature and God’s creations that Jane developed her love of contemplative living. Jane is currently in process of becoming a Benedictine Oblate through Sacred Heart Monastery.

As an author, Jane can be found working on her books or writing on her blog, Sacred Selah, a blog dedicated to sharing the comfort and contentment of living the Christian life.  A lover of God’s word since childhood, Jane began studying and writing about biblical living in 2003 and has continued to share her joys, sorrows and lessons learned as she walks with Christ. It is through Jane’s writing that she encourages other believers to stay on the path and draw close to the Father in close relationship.

Jane attended Liberty University and studied Psychology, Religion and Christian Counseling. Her life long passion has always been to encourage women to seek and live in the grace of our Heavenly Father in all we do. Jane has worked with many women as a Christian Counselor and has now retired to follow her calling as an author and retreat master specializing in retreats for healing, creativity and spiritual growth. She is a member and is certified by the AACC. She is also an advocate of therapeutic art and believes, in its contemplative state, art can bring healing and a closer relationship with Christ through Visio Divina and therapeutic creating. Jane uses her artistic gifting to bring the beauty of art to life. Jane has also dedicated her time to studying yoga, movement and mindfulness. She is a certified Yoga Therapist and loves to create in her art studio.

“We must preach the gospel at all times and when necessary; use words, movement and art.” – Jane Hanna Stoudt
